Why would I not pay with insurance?
Some people choose to pay out of pocket rather than going through insurance. Insurance companies may require in-network providers to submit detailed plans of the issues your therapy is addressing and may dictate the type or treatment or the number of sessions provided. In these cases, a mental health diagnosis is required and would become part of your permanent insurance record.
What is therapy like?
Therapy sessions are all unique but think of them as a conversation. Your session is a judgement-free zone, so feel free to speak your mind. Each session starts with a check-in of how things are going and progresses from there. At the end of each session, you will have an idea of what the next session will be like, and you may be given exercises to practice in between on your own.
What is Sondermind?
Sondermind is a collective of individual practitioners who have been verified and credentialed with other insurance companies. The sessions are still private and one-on one with your clinician. This partnership allows Custom Counseling Solutions to expand access to many more people who wish to use insurance benefits to pay for services. Please reach out if you have any questions, and I am happy to help in any way I can.
Is my stuff kept private?
Yes, each session is confidential as well as your personal information, even from your parents in most cases. As an LCSW, Jennifer is a mandatory reporter. What this means is there are certain situations Jennifer is legally obligated to report. I am happy to discuss with you what this means in your consultation or any of your sessions.
